InfinitePay is a financial management service that provides guaranteed delayed payments on open account terms. By integrating InfinitePay into OroCommerce, merchants can offer their customers the ability to purchase goods with deferred payment options, up to specified credit limits. This integration ensures that merchants receive timely payments, even when offering credit terms, by transferring the risk of delayed payments to InfinitePay.
The InfinitePay extension integrates a third-party payment service into OroCommerce, allowing customers to place orders using purchase-on-account terms. When InfinitePay is selected as the payment method, the system performs a credit check before confirming the order. Depending on configuration, this process may also include automatic reservation, capture, and activation of the payment guarantee.
The extension requires the merchant to configure a set of credentials (client reference, username, password, and security code) obtained from InfinitePay. These credentials are used to authenticate API communication between OroCommerce and InfinitePay.
In the checkout workflow, additional customer data is required for InfinitePay to complete the evaluation (e.g., company name, legal form, email). This information is passed to InfinitePay during the transaction process.
Once an order is placed and approved, the payment status can be managed via InfinitePay. The extension supports two approaches to payment settlement:
Manual: Admin users notify InfinitePay of payments by triggering the “Apply Transaction” action with the order ID.
Automatic: InfinitePay monitors the merchant’s bank account (requires separate setup and access permissions).
Configuration and management of the InfinitePay payment method is done through the OroCommerce back-office under System > Integrations.
Key Features:
Credit Evaluation and Payment Guarantee: When InfinitePay is used at checkout, a Reserve request is sent to validate the customer’s credit. Optionally, Capture and Activate steps can be executed automatically, based on the integration settings.
Checkout Data Collection: InfinitePay requires additional customer data at checkout, including the buyer’s company name, email address, and legal form (e.g., GbR, Freelancer). This data is submitted as part of the payment request.
Payment Status Management: OroCommerce supports both manual and automatic ways to mark InfinitePay orders as paid. Manual updates are performed by triggering a transaction with the order ID; automatic updates require bank account access authorization.
